Mitchell accepted this fight about ten days ago. Perhaps that had an impact on the end result, but it's more likely Bryce, who had never been knocked out in his pro career prior to this bout, just got hit with a perfect shot from Emmett (which turned his lights out in an instant). Mitchell never even got a chance to get his elite ground game going. The 29-year-old Arkansas native has dropped two of his last three, so it's imperative he get back in the win column his next time out.

ANALYSIS
Mitchell will be filling in for Giga Chikadze, who was forced to withdraw from the event due to a groin injury. Mitchell holds an impressive 7-1 record in the UFC and will face an opponent in the middle of a two-fight skid.

ANALYSIS
Like most every other Mitchell fight, it was an ugly, grinding affair in which his elite grappling game helped him secure the victory. Bryce was battered on the feet by Ige, eventually causing a nasty cut above his eye, but he battled through on the strength of five successful takedowns. Those five tries resulted in 7:33 worth of control time. Mitchell's struggles on the feet seem likely to cost him sooner rather than late, especially when he starts to step into the Octagon with the best around at 145 pounds, but Bryce's wrestling game is a legitimate difference-maker. Mitchell improves to 7-1 in his first eight UFC bouts.

ANALYSIS
Mitchell, No. 12 in the UFC's featherweight rankings, will have to defend his spot against No. 13 Ige. Mitchell's last fight was a second-round submission loss to Ilia Topuriamore than seven months ago. Meanwhile, Ige has maintained a spot in the UFC's featherweight rankings by defeating both Damon Jackson and Nate Landwehr earlier this year.

Mitchell has withdrawn from the fight due to undisclosed reasons just days away from UFC 288. The fight, which had been previously rescheduled, will now take place between Movsar Evloev and Diego Lopes.
